Paraverse treats digital transformation not as a supplementary channel for museums and exhibitions but as a restructuring of mediation, display, collection and value. Its key contribution is to identify a “digital mediation complex” in which analogue objects, virtual environments, online exhibitions, blockchain systems and image ecologies interact across institutional and technical layers. Methodologically, the issue combines theoretical, empirical and curatorial perspectives, allowing the digital to be read simultaneously as medium, infrastructure and market ecology. The wider bridge is to media theory and STS: curating becomes inseparable from protocols, interfaces, ownership regimes, platforms and computational visibility. The significance of the volume lies in showing that digital exhibitionary conditions do not simply extend physical institutions; they reorganise the scales at which objects circulate, acquire meaning and become governable.
